I got to escape the polar vortex in Chicago for summer in Australia to research and report this story. No complaints here. I had a great time and learned so much – far more than I could squeeze into this story. Now I am dying to return during the actual harvest so I can taste black truffles I’ve unearthed myself shaved lightly over soft scrambled eggs, which Wine & Truffle Co. CEO Gavin Booth said is his favorite way to enjoy them.
